Iron (as Iron Glycinate)

Iron is required to make hemoglobin and myoglobin, two essential proteins involved in transporting and storing oxygen. Iron is also important for the normal production and function of some hormones.* While everyone needs some iron, women may have increased needs due to menstrual losses or pregnancy. Other populations that may also need more iron include vegans, vegetarians, and athletes. To offset the GI side effects that conventional forms of iron may cause, we use iron glycinate, an optimally absorbed and gentle form of iron tolerated well by the GI system.*
